Amber Barke

LICSW, CYT

Amber Barke, MSW, CYT, LICSW a licensed independent clinical social worker and certified yoga instructor with over 15 years of experience specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and stress-related conditions (such as PTSD, acute stress disorder, and chronic stress).  Her approach is mindfulness-based, intuitive, and creative, with a particular emphasis on understanding the physical body and how we somatically experience our lives.   Amber believes that the body has its own unique wisdom, and when we better understand the way our body responds to the stress from our environment, we can learn to cultivate more ease, comfort, and connection in our lives.

Amber sees individuals, groups, couples, and family members in her private practice and works best with clients who are open to change and who are willing to acknowledge their areas of resistance to change. Changing our patterns and habits is hard work, and it requires patience, self-compassion, kindness, and support.  Amber feels honored to witness the transformation that occurs for clients during this healing process.

Amber’s office is a safe and inclusive space for everyone regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, sexual orientation, gender, or body size/shape/ability.   All are welcome here.

Amber’s additional services include:

  • Weekly ongoing eating disorder recovery group for clients ages 24-37
  • Clinical supervision for individuals and/or groups
  • Private therapeutic yoga instruction for individuals and/or groups
  • Meditation coaching for those cultivating a mindfulness practice
