Managing Life with an Eating Disorder is a challenge… add in a Chronic Illness and there are sometimes no words to describe the frustrations you experience.

  • Your friends often don’t understand your struggles because they have no idea what it’s like

  • Your doctors dismiss your concerns and blame them on the eating disorder

  • You get tossed around in the system because no one is listening

You feel so alone in the struggle to manage everything …

But there are people who do get it… people living in the same situation and with the same challenges as you.

They are the folks in our Resilient Voices Support Group, a virtual group led by a Registered Dietitian who lives with chronic illness herself. A group to help you learn the tools and skills to manage your Chronic Illness when you are in Recovery from Eating Disorders.

A Community and Safe Space to talk, to share, to learn, and to LIVE …

with your Chronic Illness while managing your recovery too!

Imagine your life ready to deal with all the situations that come up when it comes to your health and health care…

  • Being equipped to have conversations with your healthcare provider where you use your voice to speak up for your care.
  • Getting access to better care by knowing how to talk to your healthcare provider so you are not dismissed.
  • Having a group of friends who really get you and what you’re going through.

Resilient Voices is a group program offered at Marci RD Nutrition and led by Anita Dharwadkar, one of our Registered Dietitians. She is here to help you feel less alone in the struggle and give you the coping tools, strategies, and confidence you need to thrive!

We talk about body image, being an advocate, speaking up to medical professionals, navigating social situations, and much more.

Feeling alone chronic illness -ed(1)Some chronic illnesses are invisible, meaning that you wouldn’t know someone has it from the outside, and some are not. Receiving a diagnosis of a chronic illness may seem like a life sentence, and in a way, it is.

As someone who lives with chronic illness myself, I get it. I understand how lonely and isolating it can be, the daily symptoms and pain you have to deal with, the financial burden of medical expenses and trying not to use too many spoons in one day. It’s a lot to freaking manage.

I have many clients who struggle to navigate their chronic illness(es) in the context of eating disorder recovery. Wanting a space where folks can come and be with others who get it was my inspiration for starting this group. I believe that being with others who understand can make even the most difficult things just a little bit easier.

Resilient Voices helps you with strategies for navigating chronic illness and ED recovery.
