Body Image Training & Coping tools + Groups to help you!

Last month I wrote about summer body image struggles and I can’t thank you enough for all of the positive feedback I received from both individuals and providers.

The topic resonated for so many of you and it’s a topic we can’t seem to get off our brains over here at Marci RD.

Since it’s a subject near and dear to our hearts, we’re excited to share with you something each of the team members are cooking up for you!

My focus is on empowering providers to bring body image into their counseling spaces. For too long we have steered away from body image because WE haven’t felt equipped to support others.

I am offering a virtual workshop, with new material, alongside Fiona Sutherland. It’s called, “Expanding, Elevating, Embodying: Nutrition Professionals as Body Image Counselors” and all of the details can be found here.

Additionally, I have created a BRAND NEW model for Body Image Healing with the help of my favorite design team, J Sherman Studio. Stay tuned, as I will unveil this new model next month in preparation for the launch of the newly updated Body Image Online Training Course, which comes out in October. Woohoo!

My focus is on bringing community and support to larger bodied folks struggling with body image in the real world.”

Christine’s group for larger bodies individuals, “Food and Body Image in the Real World,” is very close to being full, so if you’re interested, please reach out. Also, we are currently developing a second live group, as well as a virtual group to extend Christine’s reach. Eek!!

If you want to add your name to the waitlist for these groups, please click here and we will make sure to let you know as soon as the details are final on the future groups.

I am excited to focus my energies and expertise in helping teens navigate their food and body image challenges. I LOVE working with teens and young adults. So often they don’t have a space to talk about their actual struggles, which leaves them isolated and at risk for developing disordered eating habits.

Yes, you read that right! We have another group in the pipeline for this Fall. Anita, our resident adolescent eating disorders expert, is getting ready to launch her first online group developed specifically for individuals aged 14-18 who need a space to talk about the very real obstacles to dealing with a rapidly changing body.

Stay tuned, as details and registration will be coming to you shortly! You can add your name to the waitlist for this program here.

Now does all of this still sound awesome but you are thinking, “My body image is crap RIGHT NOW!!

Well, I’ve got a little something for you.

I want you to find a mantra that strengthens your power so that you can call on it when you need one. Say it out loud. Shout it from a mountain. Write it on your mirror. Embroider it. Share it with a friend.

strengthen your power with body image training coping toolsHere are some ideas for a Body Image Mantra to get your juices flowing:

  • My body image may be crap, but I’m not crap!
  • I have been sold the lie of body hatred, back off diet culture!
  • This is hard but I am not alone in this fight!
