Marci RD Nutrition: Food & Body Image Healers® helps clinicians and clients alike develop smart, enduring strategies for overcoming eating disorders, disordered eating, and the backlash of chronic dieting.

Our organization serves two groups of people – individuals looking to develop a healthier relationship to food and their bodies and clinicians seeking training on how to counsel individuals in recovery from eating disorders and disordered eating. However, a single working philosophy informs the work we do in both fields.

  • Our job is to help individuals tap into their own inner wisdom and strength which is naturally inside each and every one of us. We think of ourselves as guides, companions, and partners along the road to learning, growing, and healing.
  • It is possible to develop a peaceful relationship to food and bodies despite the lack of this modeled in our Western society.
  • We embrace a counter-cultural message which promotes body diversity, fat positivity, and non-diet principles. We disavow weight-centric messaging and the notion that bodies are meant to be controlled or managed.
  • The integration of both nutrition and psychology is key to fueling lasting transformation.
  • As educators and practitioners, our work with individual clients informs and enhances our clinician training programs, and vice versa.
  • The work we do is strongly rooted in the development of trusting relationships built on mutual respect, compassion, and empathy.
  • We believe that when working with individuals our best work is done when we listen more than we speak.
  • We remain committed to continued growth and learning and invest our time and financial resources to stay abreast in the most current research and best practices.
  • Health At Every Size and Intuitive Eating Principles infuse our counseling, speaking, and teaching.

Marci is an innovator in her clinical supervision and professional training – offering in person and virtual opportunities. Her knowledge of human biochemistry paired with attention to psycho social dynamics gives her the capacity to provide viable, researched solutions on a variety of complicated client interactions. I love that she brings her counseling skills into supervision – she doesn’t just give you the answer, rather she helps you think critically to arrive at a solution. She has a wealth of resources at her disposal including an enormous library, extensive professional network, and a fantastic reputation. It’s an honor and a privilege to learn from her.

My work with Marci changed my life. Not only my relationship with food, which I thought was irreparable, but she helped me learn how to trust myself and connect with my intuition and exist in the moment, in the world outside my thoughts and lists and calculations. I used to be so shut off. Now I feel like I am a part of the world when I am working with my clients and making meaningful friendships. My time with Marci helped make this possible.

Marci is a compelling speaker who not only shares cutting-edge research and clinical wisdom, but she presents in a way that keeps the audience completely engaged – and even entertained. I highly recommend her for your event!

I think of Paula more as my life coach, rather than my nutritionist. She has an all-inclusive approach to help me figure out why I am eating the way that I do, which helps me to look at the big picture. I find that I am put at ease whenever I come to her office, and I really don’t know what I would do without her. I feel incredibly fortunate to benefit from her wisdom and guidance.

We all need a safe place to fall and a place to be real. Paula has been so patient as we peel back some emotional layers and try to understand why my eating was out of control for so long. Now I am learning a new way to see food as fuel, to read labels and make smart choices, and to apply a healthier “food as chemistry” plan. When I leave Paula’s office, I feel empowered, reassured, grateful, and rejuvenated about why and how to take better care of myself.
