Marci RD Nutrition: Food & Body Image Healers® helps clinicians and clients alike develop smart, enduring strategies for overcoming eating disorders, disordered eating, and the backlash of chronic dieting.

Our organization serves two groups of people – individuals looking to develop a healthier relationship to food and their bodies and clinicians seeking training on how to counsel individuals in recovery from eating disorders and disordered eating. However, a single working philosophy informs the work we do in both fields.

  • Our job is to help individuals tap into their own inner wisdom and strength which is naturally inside each and every one of us. We think of ourselves as guides, companions, and partners along the road to learning, growing, and healing.
  • It is possible to develop a peaceful relationship to food and bodies despite the lack of this modeled in our Western society.
  • We embrace a counter-cultural message which promotes body diversity, fat positivity, and non-diet principles. We disavow weight-centric messaging and the notion that bodies are meant to be controlled or managed.
  • The integration of both nutrition and psychology is key to fueling lasting transformation.
  • As educators and practitioners, our work with individual clients informs and enhances our clinician training programs, and vice versa.
  • The work we do is strongly rooted in the development of trusting relationships built on mutual respect, compassion, and empathy.
  • We believe that when working with individuals our best work is done when we listen more than we speak.
  • We remain committed to continued growth and learning and invest our time and financial resources to stay abreast in the most current research and best practices.
  • Health At Every Size and Intuitive Eating Principles infuse our counseling, speaking, and teaching.

My work with Marci changed my life. Not only my relationship with food, which I thought was irreparable, but she helped me learn how to trust myself and connect with my intuition and exist in the moment, in the world outside my thoughts and lists and calculations. I used to be so shut off. Now I feel like I am a part of the world when I am working with my clients and making meaningful friendships. My time with Marci helped make this possible.

I’ve truly enjoyed having Marci as a supervisor. She has insightful answers to all of my questions and comes to supervision with a kind, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude.

Lauren Dear, RDN, LDN

“Sarah was instrumental in my recovery, and I’m so lucky to have worked with her! Always available, knowledgeable, understanding and kind, she was never judgmental and made me feel so comfortable throughout the process. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone seeking nutritional counseling, she’s really one of the best.”

In January 2017 I was fortunate to see Marci Evans give an exceptional presentation on effective and safe non-dieting solutions to eating disorders recovery and gastrointestinal health. It was one of the top five most informative, dynamic, engaging, and indeed compelling presentations I have ever seen in approximately 35 years of attending conferences. Marci has the rare gift of being able to present detailed scientific information from multiple perspectives, while transforming its implications into useful and humane clinical guidance.

Paula is more like a nutrition therapist. Of course her knowledge in nutrition is extensive, but her heart is just as big! Her caring nature is evident in the way she interacts and respects each person she encounters! Her presence gives one a feeling of being worthy and a feeling of warmth.
