Paula Krzywicki is a registered dietitian and has been practicing in the field of nutrition for ten years. Her areas of focus are eating disorders/eating issues, weight management, cardiovascular disease and general health & wellness.
Paula's food and nutrition knowledge is combined with years of counseling experience and a deep understanding of the connection between food and emotions. She is committed to teaching, coaching and counseling clients to improve their health status and quality of life while reaching a peaceful place with food and their body. Paula believes eating can be natural and intuitive to provide nourishment for the body, mind and soul. She tries to help her clients understand how their life experiences shape their relationship with food. Paula believes in a collaborative approach to nutrition counseling and values the input from clients about what they want from treatment.
Paula received a bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics from the State University of New York (Buffalo State) and a bachelor's degree in food science from Penn State University. She completed dietetic internships at several hospitals in Buffalo, NY and with the American Dietetic Association in their Washington, DC office. She has worked in academic, corporate, hospital and community settings. Her work experience in the greater Boston area includes nutrition therapy at The Klarman Eating Disorder Center at McLean hospital. She has also worked for Prism Health Networks as a nutrition counselor and educator and at SUNY-Buffalo State as a lecturer in nutrition. In addition, to being a registered dietitian, Paula is a food scientist with over ten years of experience in the food industry creating and regulating processed foods. With this experience she brings a unique perspective and solid knowledge of the science behind food to help people navigate their way through the maze of food choices. Additional education and training includes Certification in Adult Weight Management from the American Dietetic Association and continuing education in: Eating Disorder Treatment, Understanding Eating Disorders, Nutrition & Exercise from Science to Practice, Obesity, Menopause, Fatigue and Weight Loss Coaching. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association, Massachusetts Dietetic Association, Multi-Service Eating Disorder Association, Weight Management Dietetic Practice Group and Institute of Food Technologists.
