Elizabeth Jarrard is a registered dietitian who believes that building a healthy, guiltless relationship with food and positive body image is a key part of a healthy, happy life. She hopes to show her clients-whether they are endurance athletes or victims of fad diets-that optimal nutrition can be achieved without guilt, stress, or obsession.
Educational Background
Elizabeth’s love of science brought her to Boston University as an honors Biology student. It wasn’t until her sophomore year that she decided a career in nutrition would provide her with more opportunities she is passionate about. Coursework in nutritional science, and volunteer experiences at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Medical Center reiterated the importance of nutrition in health and reignited her passion. After being accepted at a highly competitive dietetic internship at University of Houston, she gained experience not only in clinical dietetics, but also sports nutrition, weight management and marketing.
Areas of Expertise
After supervised practice with Marci Anderson, RD, Elizabeth began seeing clients Marci RD Nutrition Consulting to work in the area of nutrition she is most passionate about-outpatient counseling, specializing in disordered eating treatment. Her area of expertise includes eating disorder therapy, sports nutrition, plant based nutrition, and medical nutrition therapy.
Elizabeth’s energy is infectious in both her personal and work lives. She is an avid blogger and social media guru, who can be found in the yoga studio, on the barre, running outside, hiking or cooking when not hard at work. You can follow Elizabeth on Twitter @ElizabethEats
